Welp, that’s it. That’s where the magic happens! Work, write, game, pay bills, eat, sleep… okay maybe not sleep.
Other than high school English class, how did you learn to write?
I’m not sure if I’ve really learned to write yet : ) I did have a couple of writing classes at the art school I went to, but they were nothing more than write my “memoirs” which at 22 meant a whole lot of nothing! Otherwise I had nothing but reading other peoples stuff and trying to learn. I’m still very grammatically challenged and mildly dyslexic so much to be learned yet by this padawan.
What is one of the best sentences or paragraphs you’ve ever written?
“Are you excited about school?” Mom asked. I shrugged.
She asked that every first day of school. I think she actually expected one of us to jump up and shout: “Why yes, Mother, I am truly excited. I adore spending eight hours in class rooms learning crap I won’t remember after graduation.” None of us ever did. But I have to give her brownie points for always trying.
What is your favorite sentence or paragraph from another author’s novel?
When I was a teen all I would read was Stephen King. One year I had to do a book report on any book/short story I wanted so I sadistically picked “The Body.” As I get older my memory is lousy and very selective, but there was one paragraph in “The Body” that will always stick with me. I’ll only do a bit of it since its long.
“The kid wasn’t sick, the kid wasn’t sleeping. The Kid wasn’t gong to get up in the morning anymore or get the runs from eating too many apples or catch poison ivy or wear out the eraser on the end of his Ticonderoga No. 2 during a hard math test. The kid was dead; stone dead. The kid was never going to go out bottling with his friends in the spring, gunnysack over his shoulder to pick up the returnables the retreating snow now uncovered. The kid wasn’t going to wake up at two o’clock A.M. on the morning of November 1st this year, run to the bathroom, and vomit up a big glurt of cheap Halloween candy.”
-Stephen King, The Body
I just love how the character used things he knows to explain to himself how Ray Brower was dead. At the same time I remember getting chills reading it as a youngin. My teacher didn’t appreciate me picking it as my book report, however. Said it was too violent subject mater. Especially since I also made a diorama depicting the scene.
Do you have pets? Show us!
I’m officially the crazy cat lady. Normally I have a strict 2 pet minimum, but my “youngest” stumbled across my backyard as a 3 month old kitten in need of help. After nursing him back to health and cleaning the ticks off him, I could find nobody to take him. So I adopted him. Bringing me to 3 cats and official status as Crazy Cat Lady.
What was your best experience on Wattpad?
I haven’t been on Wattpad for very long and the circumstances that brought me here in the first place were… interesting to say the least, but I would say getting Freelander featured has been my best experience. Before that I was the typical Wattpader and wondering how to get reads, selling my soul to SYS (which I still do, just not as often) and advertising in free read threads. Once I got featured I actually started getting real readers and some feedback. Sure I still wouldn’t mind having a few more non-silent readers speak up, but I’m grateful to have any.
What other talents do you have? Show us!
Well I trained in computer graphics, so I guess that’s a talent. I do a lot of things I call photoshop quickies, where I don’t take a lot of time on them and just do silly graphics. I make my own book covers. Here’s a teaser I did for my trilogy and an image of the bad guy Khail from said trilogy. For the record, he’s not a werewolf. And also a “quickie” for another story.
What is the most disappointing book you have ever read?
Most recently I would say Twilight. They have their mind numbing entertainment value, so at first I enjoyed them but when I analyzed them, they’re really quite sexist and Bella is NOT somebody I would want my future kids to model themselves after.
Do you keep a writing notebook? Show us a page!
I do and I don’t. I have a notebook that I used to work out the aging mechanics of one of my characters and for those insomnia moments where something chatters in my head. For the most part it’s all on my laptop. My dysgraphia doesn’t allow me to write by hand very long without turning to chicken scratches or just flat our hurting.

Recommend another Wattpadder.
Hmm, I guess I’ll recommend my teenage clone @ForeverMalak just because she’s, well, my teenage clone : )
Other than your Wattpad profile, do you have another site you’d like us to visit?
Nope. I haven’t updated my graphic design portfolio in some time since I’m not actively job hunting just yet and my facebook is private to only a few people.
